VIJAYAWADA: Counselling for admission into MBBS and BDS courses will begin tomorrow at NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada, Osmania University and JNTU in Hdyerabad, Andhra University in Visakhapatnam and Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati.
The NTR Univeristy of Health Sciences will fill 3,235 of the total number of 3,850 MBBS seats and 1,103 of the 1,530 BDS seats through counselling. This year, there is an increase of 200 MBBS seats as two government medical colleges have been sanctioned at Srikakulam and Adilabad.
Likewise, 100 BDS seats have been increased with the sanction of a dental college at Kadapa. However, the university would conduct counselling in the second phase to fill 100 MBBS seats each at Santiram Medical College, Nandyal, and Konaseema Institute of Medical Colleges, Amalapuram, as they were yet to get clearance from Medical Council of India.
The NTR University of Health Sciences called for online applications for admission into Eamcet Medical Wing. The university will fill MBBS seats in 29 medical colleges including 11 government and 17 private colleges. BDS seats in three government and 15 private colleges would be filled during the present phase of counselling.
