The yatra, which has a decorated vehicle that showcases the ancient, hand-written copy of the holy book and the shastras (weapons) used by the 10th guru and other Sikh martyrs in their Dharm Yudh (Righteous war) to protect the Hindu Dharma.
According to Vijayawada Guru Singh Sabha president Harvinder Singh, the yatra would be welcomed at the Benz Circle, from where it would be taken in a procession to Gurunanak Nagar at 7 p.m.
He said the yatra was aimed at spreading the message of one God and the welfare of the whole humankind regardless of the caste, colour, creed or religion.
