VIJAYAWADA: The Stamps and Registration Department would introduce online payment system from October. In this system, people who want to go for registration of assets need not carry cash to registration offices. They can remit the money in any branch of the State Bank of India or the State Bank of Hyderabad .
Announcing this at a media briefing on Wednesday, Inspector-General of Stamps and Registration Department, B. Aravinda Rao, who was here to inspect sub-registrar’s offices, said the new system would be extended to other banks too. “Now, there are complaints from people about the snatching of cash bags at registration offices. Once the new system is introduced, people will be freed from the burden of carrying cash,” he said.
“In this system, people can register properties from any of the sub-registrar’s office. But, it will take at least a couple of years from now to launch the system,” he said.
