Machilipatnam port gets 2,000 acres of land

Dec 31 Over 2,000 acres of land was handed over to the Machilipatnam port by the Andhra Pradesh government for the financial closure in the next couple of months.
Listing the important developmental activities in the Krishna district this year and the activities that are in the pipeline in the coming year, District Collector N Sridhar said that around 450 acres had already been acquired under the land acquisition act. Another 1600 acres was in the process, he told reporters here. The State Government had allocated Rs 1,590 crores for the development of the port and ground was being prepared for the acquisition of 6000 acres for the development of the port, he said.
